15 March 1870; Wife Ann and daughter Augusta Tucker witnessed the probate. Son Samuel (the only son) was executor. The will refers to the children of his son-in-law Jabez Bowyer so this proves the marriage of his daughter Ann to her cousin Jabez.8

Ann Howell Bowyer referred to herself as "Lady" in the Passenger Record. It is possible she had roots in Ireland, which could account forthe departure of Ann, with her daughter and son-in-law, from an Irish port.
