Sometime after Ida and her twin were born, he signed everything over to this wife and entered the Old Soldiers' Home. A census record confirms this. He served in the Civil War.

Henrich W. Tigges d. 1873
If any descendant finds this, I would be very grateful if they would contact me . If you have done a DNA test, please compare to me to see if we are related. I am trying to learn if my great grandfather, Henry Tigges, b. about 1848 in Sachsen, came to New York in 1866, died in New Jersey in 1904, is related to this man.
1870; Weehawken, Town of Union, Hudson, New Jersey; p. 15: MF # M593/863 & 865, age 43, grocer, real estate value $3000, personal property value $1500, citizen, born Prussia, enumeration date 22 Jun 1870. Notice that both wife Dina and son Henry are missing from the 1870 Census.6
Note*
I have no firm proof that this person is even related to Henry, much less his father or brother. However, another researcher LuAnn Tigges .com believes he is my Henry's father, based on her family records. DNA proof leads to Wilhelm, possible father of Henry William.
